Astrology for May
New Moon in Taurus

This is a powerful transformative New Moon in Taurus. Taurus, the most grounded and steady of the earth signs, and of all the signs, invites us to bring abundance and manifestation of our desires into our lives, making it an auspicious New Moon for setting an intention. Taurus at its highest and deepest expression embodies the wisdom of cyclic growth and of nature, a Master Teacher for those who listen and see the deeper currents in the turning seasons and the Earth’s great intelligence. At the New Moon we can lean into these energies. This is our greatest lineage of riches, the wisdom of nature and the cosmos. (The Hierophant is correlated with Taurus in the Major Arcana of the Tarot, the one who hears and listens, connected to the divine).
Setting an intention is a powerful statement when reflected upon with deep thoughtfulness and feeling alignment, to attract in the energies, thought forms, and outer circumstances, that can support what you are wanting to grow and actualize in your life. (The power of intention is in creating and shaping our lives).
This Earthy New Moon lines up with the powerful Mars Pluto opposition for the last of 3 deeply disruptive and transformative upheavals around power and intention since the first Mars Pluto opposition on November 3rd 2024, right before the Presidential election. The 2nd opposition was January 2 2025, and the last will be April 26 during New Moon. This 3rd opposition is finishing a long review about power, intensity, things hidden surfacing, and the eruption of hidden forces. It highlights how we relate to the yang, or masculine, qualities, and what needs transforming around the values based on the old definition of the warrior. This sets the stage to meet our new evolutionary calling, especially at the upcoming Aries Vortex. Venus is highlighted now in Pisces, with characteristics of the feminine, or yin sustainability, of empathy and inclusiveness of a larger receptiveness and sensitivity to the collective healing and integration now trying to take place. How will Venus and Mars find their balance, in your life, in our lives, as is needed for the creative birthing of a new evolutionary time?

Mars leaves the post shadow of its retrograde cycle on May 1st, opening the portal for Beltane or May Day. Beltane is one of the Celtic cross Quarter days celebrating the midway point between spring and summer, associated with fire, fertility, and the sacred union of nature.
It is educational for us astrologers, and for all, to look at what’s been taking place collectively since November 3rd, around these issues, and to see what indeed is being pulled out into view for us to review, transform, reevaluate, and take action on.
It is also worthwhile to contemplate our choices since November 3rd, seeing what transformation is taking place, seeing what was hidden from view which is now seen, and to see what actions we have taken, and in what ways we are aligning with the drive for actualization in our lives.
Apr 27 – New Moon at 7 Taurus – Powerful New Moon connections with the warrior (Mars) and the god of the Underworld (Pluto). Taurus prefers peace, stability, and to see the positive, but something is erupting from below! Contemplate your values and how you take a stand for them.
