Astrology for June

The month starts with windy Gemini, dispersing the blooms of spring as we transition into summer. Gemini is mutable, flexible, adaptable. Ruled by Mercury, the precocious youth, who is full of curiosity, quick moves and sudden twists and turns. The sign of the twins, the sign of the human being, brings out the light and dark of our natures, the unconscious and the conscious, the shadow and the brilliancy. And if you are born a Gemini one of your tasks is to find ways to relate to both sides of your nature. The story of the twins, one mortal and one immortal, speaks to the idea of the relationship of our deep unique Self to our cultivated identity and persona.

In esoteric astrology it is said that Venus rules Gemini. Venus is the planet of relatedness, and in esoteric astrology it represents the higher manifestation of Gemini, weaving together conscious and unconscious, light and dark. Think of these Gemini’s, Anne Frank, Salman Rushdie, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Bob Dylan. There is also the tendency of the less evolved Gemini to project the shadow outward and onto others, instead of working with it for one’s soul growth. A good example of this is Gemini Donald Trump.

Where’s Gemini in your chart? Is it in the 1st house giving you a Gemini rising, or the 5th house, or the 10th? This house is now lit up.

We now begin the Saturn Neptune conjunction in Aries as well as the beginning of the Aries Vortex formation, which continues through Dec 2026.

For more on Saturn Neptune conjunction, Saturn into Aries and the Aries Vortex forming, join Susan for her June 13th talk.

This month Saturn and Neptune conjunct in the 1st degree of Aries. They come closest to exact conjunction on July 12, being a fraction of a degree apart. The exact conjunction is on February 20 2026. The conjunction of Saturn and Neptune marks a new beginning. Not only because the conjunction starts a new 36 year cycle for Saturn and Neptune relationship, but also because the conjunction is in Aries, the sign of new beginnings, fresh starts and the impulse for birth.

We could imagine Saturn as the wise midwife, here to usher in Neptune’s vision, ideal, and dream. Aries possesses nature’s thrust of spring, new growth and life. Saturn will structure and seek to give form to our dreams, our visions. Saturn pressures us to slow, to become mindful, to understand cause and affect. Are we aware of what we are creating? Saturn seeks to focus our attention to the inner layers of psyche. It is here that we really come to know ourselves and the conditioning that unconsciously forms us. Just as Capricorn is the season that brings light to that which has been in darkness, so Saturn, it’s ruling planet, through its downward pressure and focus, seeks to bring light and awareness to how we shape ourselves and our life. This is the hard work that Saturn imposes on us.

Neptune, like the Hindu God, Vishnu, is the dreaming god, without boundaries, and holding all possibilities, the place of imagination. Saturn seeks to give Neptune’s imaginings form. What have you been dreaming? Is it a partial dream, a half hearted dream? Aries brings strong intention to take a risk, start anew.

Neptune also works on Saturn’s structures. It’s transformative energies dissolves the Saturnian form that no longer is useful. What structures need to dissolve in our lives? During the last Saturn Neptune conjunction of 1989, in Capricorn, the Berlin wall came down. The Saturn Neptune conjunction’s skillful manifestation is mindful presence, observing of form and dissolving form, observant of the need to slow and move into a new dimension of being, or the opposite, the need to confront escapism, spin and underlying causes of overwhelm and feeling lost.

Saturn in Aries is a time of testing for more mature leadership, obstructing impulsive actions. asking for accountability.

On a personal level, it disciplines the quick moving Aries energy into deeper understanding. Obstacles become sign posts for realistically assessing and learning how to be in the present and accept what is, while balancing control with boldness. With Saturn in Aries we are called to cultivate patience as Saturn tests, limits, constricts, and discerns, potentially to get to the truth, the essence of things, events, and our true nature. It is like the Zen Master Teacher.

Saturn fact checks Neptune’s illusions and spin. When Saturn meets Neptunes ones hopes and visions for the future meet a reality of what’s really possible. Saturn and Neptune in Aries, can support creative artistic endeavors if one takes time to plan, to work with organization, and to keep at it! Patience and perseverance pays off.
