Gemini Full Super Moon

Dec 4 – Full SuperMoon, 13 Gemini, 3:13 pm PST, “Cold Moon”

Under the full Moon in Gemini, connections and conversations are illuminated. Gemini can highlight both integration of polarities and also bring about greater extremes. Gemini is the sign of the Twins, one mortal and one immortal. This is the signature of the human, we of body and soul. Mercury rules this sign, and is the only god able to move between the worlds, above and below. Mercury is the precocious child, talented, playful. But also in the tradition of the scribe, Thoth, the language maker. In esoteric astrology, Gemini is ruled by Venus, pointing to Gemini’s higher expression as the sign which harmonizes polarities.  This full Moon squares the Pisces north node, and Virgo south node. We can think about that as how the expansive mental and philosophical signs, Gemini and Sagittarius, might include feeling, spirituality, and empathy. We might see this as a portal and potential turning point in our collective awareness.

With a grand trine forming between Saturn, Jupiter, and Mercury, this portal may include a message or new awareness in our social consciousness. Something is coming to light.

Personally, this is an excellent time to ground what we are imagining for our future projects, a good time to reach out and share what we are doing or offering. On December 10th, Mercury opposes Uranus and forms a ‘kite’ formation, bringing in a brilliance of insight, a breakthrough from the status quo and/or an incredible creative imagining time. Perhaps even the sudden revealing of previously hidden information. Mercury is in deep Scorpio, highly perceptive, with emotional intelligence. How can we most benefit from tuning into our own emotional intelligence? Emotional intelligence is the capacity to recognize, understand, and skillfully work with emotions, both our own and those of others, which includes using emotional information to guide behavior, decisions, and relationships with wisdom and flexibility. 

This Sagittarius Gemini pairing highlights fire and air into adventurous exploring, both physically and mentally. This are the signs of the mind, of belief systems that build our philosophies of life. What a perfect time, under this full Moon, to contemplate what gives meaning to our lives, and to spend time reflecting and sharing through being with others, through writing, and through study.

December 19 – New Moon

Dec 19 – New Moon in Sagittarius – What inspires you? The Sagittarius New Moon sets the stage for the Winter Solstice, one of the four cardinal turning points of the year. This new Moon leads us into dreaming up a rebirth at the Solstice. Sagittarius encourages us to find our inspiration, realize the preciousness of this life, and to take up our gift as creators. Humans are deep, complex beings, navigating highs and lows, losses and new beginnings. Under the new Moon in Sagittarius we might take in the words of philosopher Kahlil Gibran, “No man can reveal to you anything but that which already lies half asleep in the dawning of your knowledge…If (the teacher) is indeed wise he does not bid you enter the house of his wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind.”

This New Moon squares Saturn and Neptune – Hope and our dreams, our imaginings of what can be are tested. We are slowed to consider step by step progress, and to map out a plan. To bring in deeper practical wisdom in implementing new possibilities.

Dec 21 – Jupiter at 22 Cancer squares Chiron in Aries – Jupiter in Cancer increases sensitivity and the desire for belonging. In square to Chiron in Aries brings our awareness to any wounds of aggression, or fears to acknowledge our own needs.

Dec 21 – Winter Solstice – The Sun enters Capricorn – the longest night meets the shortest day, as the Sun dawns for 3 mornings in it’s most northern location on the eastern horizon. Solstice = Stands still, before its return toward the most southern location on the eastern horizon at the Summer Solstice in June. Now we celebrate, as the ancient peoples did, the birth of the light, symbolizing eternal hope, rebirth, and renewal. A time to pause and reflect on the upcoming year, a time to reflect on the quality of our personal consciousness.

Jan 1 – Mercury enters Capricorn – Here Mercury moves from lofty reflections of Sagittarius, to the practicality of earthy Capricorn. It organizes and creates goals to achieve.

The Twelve signs for December 2025: Sun and Rising Signs
