Astrology for March
Jupiter calls to us in the evening. It’s ardent light pulls us into the mystery of the deeper world in which we live. Venus dawns the morning silent and shining, exclaiming with its song of light, a new day and the mystery of another world. Between these arms of sunset and sunrise lives the greater world in which we exist, the starry universe. They summon us to stop our busyness and recreate our lives in attunement to the great intelligence that birthed this cosmos.
Today, March 8th a solar eclipse takes place at 5:54pm, and will not be visible to us. Its energy will be intensified due to its alignment with Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune in the mutable signs, highlighting the shifting, unpredictable times, changing opinions, schedules, possibilities or ideologies versus hard realities. The question to now ask ourselves is “What is our vision and what must we do to manifest it?” The eclipse can bring forward hidden issues we need to attend to.
Reignite your awareness of this sacred place in which we live, the sacred intelligence and universal heart we all share. Now is the time to cultivate a clearer, more spacious mind, pushing back the veil of this fearful, driven, and superficial mind.
Uranus and Pluto, as their tensional square alignment unwinds, name the time. They challenge us to transform our world views. That which was our foundation has been challenged. Each person now must awaken to Uranus’ call. What crisis has awakened you to your greater creative life and potential? What inspiring, courageous person, or event galvanizes your attention, and shifts your life, your perspective? What calls to you now? What are you attracted to?
Pluto, arising from the dark soil of the underworld, brings to our attention the unconscious programming which has shaped structures we live by unknowingly. It lifts out of the shadows repressions, past abuses, abandonments, unfinished hopes, losses, intense emotions, and all those glimpsed issues that we would rather not see. It unveils the power that dominates and has taken over creation in our world, like greed, fear, hierarchal structures of privilege and popularity. It also calls us to enter the darkened areas of the soul’s rebirthing ground. Now is the time to reflect deeply on what the soul values and is yearning to express.
This year the prominent planetary alignment along with Uranus and Pluto, is Saturn in Sagittarius squaring Neptune in Pisces. Saturn’s focus and groundedness square up against Neptune’s dreamy idealism. Saturn confronts areas where we are (Neptune) delusional, deceptive, escapist or victims, in order that a reorientation in consciousness can take place in our daily live, in our politics, and world wide. It is a time for taking stock of ourselves. It is a truth seeking and telling time juxtaposed with spin and vagueness. It is a time when we ask ourselves, “Do we want walls (Saturn) to stop the homeless and refugees because boundaries are breaking down (Neptune), or do we acknowledge that the loosening of boundaries is rearranging the world and how will we give shape to these conditions with consciousness (Saturn).” (For the many delineations of this planetary pair, come to Susan’s monthly talk Friday, March 11, 9:30 am at the Santa Cruz Shambala Center or order talk online,- http://susanheinz.com/purchase-astrololgy-talks-susan-heinz/)
In March Mars leaves intense Scorpio and enters Sagittarius, focusing the energy into directness and getting to the truth of things. In fiery Sagittarius it can increase righteous points of view, but it also seeks philosophical understanding and greater truths. Mars in Sagittarius wants to adventure into new territory. It has boldness and wants to move ahead. (watch the political scene shift into new dynamics). We are now within the Mars retrograde cycle. Though it is not yet retrograde, this is the ground that we will begin to review when it goes retrograde on April 17th through June 29. Very interesting that this is taking place right before the political conventions. More on this next month.
The Spring or Vernal Equinox takes place on March 19, PST. The Sun moves into fiery Aries, the activating dynamism of Spring. On March 23rd a lunar eclipse takes place at the full moon and is visible to us during Moonset, the full eclipse at 5:01 am. It takes place in Libra, bringing forth relationship and diplomatic issues that need clearing and defining.
The delineation of the 12 signs for the month will now be discussed at each of my monthly astrology classes. Come and hear what’s up for you this month into next!
