Astrology for March
With a gathering of planets in Pisces, our sensitivity is increased. We are sensate beings living in the ocean of shared feelings. Now we are more open to the feelings and emotions in the collective. The Full Moon in Virgo on the 1st is a time for compassion, compassion toward those who experience loss and trauma, and toward oneself as we make our way through these challenging times.
Yet with Mars in Sagittarius aligning with Uranus in Aries, we may feel restless, impatient, wanting to move on, with the need to change, but not knowing exactly where we are going. Do you ever feel adrift on a wide ocean?
Saturn, now in Capricorn, encourages us to be patient, and not to abandon our earlier intention, to stay steady on course. We may feel less inspiration toward our goal. The Saturnian pressure of staying the coarse may seem to drag us down or slow us down. We may feel overwhelmed by all the tasks calling to us, by deep feelings. If so take a walk in open spaces or by the sea. Give yourself some breathing room. Sit atop a point where the land or sea stretches out beneath you. Find the most productive way to go into reverie and an expansive state of calm. Let the calm move through your body down into your feet and anchor into this Earth.
The New Moon on the 17th in Pisces asks you to dream into the Spring and realign yourself with a vision for the months ahead.
The Spring Equinox takes place on March 20th, as the planets gather in Aries, jump starting us in to new action. Mars now in Capricorn steadies our pace and asks for structure and routine to accomplish our intention.
Mercury goes retrograde on Mar 22nd in fiery Aries. We now balance ourselves between accessing our instincts, and trusting our intuition with our disciplined integrity toward our tasks ahead.

You may feel impatience and frustration but this will transform into a new kind of steadiness. It’s important to be mindful of the resistance you feel, because it calls for new perspectives. Taurus (Apr 20-May 20): Ah, dear Taurus, this month with the full Moon in Virgo you are launched into industrious action. You feel a resistance and a restlessness to break free of the focus now being demanded of you. You may experience some irritation and impatience with others. Attune to the deep Piscean energy as it calls to your imaginative self. Dream up something playful and fun with a friend, then store energy in preparation for May when Uranus activates new breakthroughs.
Gemini (May 21-Jun 20): Your bright spirit can easily go into reverie this month. With the full moon launching you into March you must find a sense of grounding. The month begins with focus on your public role. On the 5th your planet, Mercury, enters Aries and the pace of life quickens. By the 10th you feel the demands of Saturn, asking for discipline and the need to balance between focus and flights of imagination. This is the secret of life and creation! With Mercury going retrograde on the 22nd, slow your projects down and realign with what inspires you, so you can take off on the 15th of April.
Cancer (Jun 21–Jul 21): Dear Cancer, this month brings you wonder lust. Imagine yourself upon a high peak. Below you, the earth stretches out in its rhythmic unfoldment of hill and stream. Whether you travel or not this month give yourself the space and time to ponder larger views and the greater meaning of things. Leo (Jul 22 – Aug 22): Dear Leo, this month brings you to deeper spaces, where your attunement to others is highlighted. It is the time for important talks and sharing.
