Astrology for March

March Celestial Events:

  1. March 1 – Venus enters Aquarius, and squares Uranus. With Venus in Aquarius, we may notice an ability to step back and witness our interactions with others. Venus in Aquarius enjoys friends and collaborations with others. The square to Uranus ignites awakening and changing up in relationship. We are more supported to observe before responding. In general, open oneself to new possibilities!
  2. Mar 5 – Mercury goes retrograde in Pisces until the 28th. March, then, is the time to slow our mental processes and analyzing. Step into more imaginative realms. Create your own sanctuary to touch into self-compassion and your connection with source. Schedule time for reverie, poetry, giving voice and melody to that deeper feeling within yourself. Hurrying forward, forcing, cramming your schedule with busyness, just won’t work now.
  3. Mar 6 – New Moon in Pisces conjunct Neptune. We are all spiritual beings, declares this New Moon! We all have deep hearts as our center of perception to truth and the poetry of our souls. March gives us an opportunity to honor this part of our psyches. Today, affirm the power of our imagination and divine connection to bring into manifestation a soul infused life and a loving inclusive world. (Watch the negative side of this as victim, denial, overwhelm and confusion).
  4. Mar 6 – Uranus enters Taurus! Last time in Taurus 1934 to 1942 (See below)
  5. Mar 20 – Spring Equinox, Sun moves into Aries, Full Moon in Libra! Mars trines Pluto. Spring takes off with a power lineup: Full Moon and Mars Pluto alignment. The Equinox is one of the 4 important turning point times of the year, marking the beginning of a 3 month period. This full moon has the power of transformation, and to shine light on all matters in relationship. We have the opportunity to maintain our center and find balance between attunement to ourselves and collaboration with another.
  6. Mar 21 – Venus in Aquarius squares Mars in Taurus. Here’s the test of patience and conflicting needs. Take as an opportunity for new ways to listen and communicate.
  7. Mar 26 – Venus enters Pisces, Venus is exalted in Pisces, highlighting our ability to resonate with another and ‘the other’. Excellent for artistic and imaginative pursuits
  8. Mar 28 – Mercury goes direct

Jupiter in Sagittarius and Saturn in Capricorn

Feeling expansive and then contractive, feeling possibilities then challenges? Feeling into your dreams and ideals, then faced with day to day reality? Time for patient movement and structured arrangement toward what you want to achieve. All of us are in this boat, so you’re not alone. Centering, blocking out times to work with goals, with faith in getting to where you want to go will bring you there.

Saturn in Capricorn is closing in on Pluto in Capricorn. Both planets cut away the nonessentials. Now is the time to prune back what is nonessential and unauthentic, what is of the past and is ready to be transformed. We want to free ourselves from clutter, and transform self-judgment to openess. While committing to these tasks we remind ourselves continually to tune into Jupiter in Sagittarius. This means to broaden our vision, and allow movement into uncharted territories.

Uranus into Taurus

When Uranus enters Taurus, it shakes the ground we are accustomed to standing upon. (This began last year) Uranus shakes up what seems steady and solid. It does so to loosen our grip on tightly held identities that give us a sense of security. These identities (ways we think of ourselves and the patterns that come out of those) are no longer helpful to our growth, or they limit our ability to imagine what might be possible. Through greater insight (Uranus) to that which we deeply value (Taurus) within oneself, for our world, and the Earth, we renew our consciousness. Together, we are learning to navigate in new ways the uncertainty and not knowing of these times. That uncertainty and non-knowing can be perceived as an open quality, a spaciousness, an opening that hasn’t yet defined itself. As with all Uranus transits it activates break through and challenges us to move beyond our comfort zones. If we allow this, we move into new dimensions of perception, supporting more freedom and authentic expression.

Try things in a different way. Begin backwards, or turn the whole thing upside down. Don’t adhere to what has been. Let the earth shake with new inventive possibilities.

While Uranus traverses Taurus during the next 7 years expect more environmental awakening. And crisis. As the bees and butterflies die and the glaciers melt, the coral reefs bleach white, the young activists are calling out to wake up. What have American elders sold out to? Capitalism is challenged in its values, and its endless growth ideology. We look toward 2020 when Saturn and Pluto conjunct, as well as Jupiter and Saturn. We are at a critical turning point. Uranus in Taurus brings the lightening flash of awakening to our interconnectedness with all life. We labor into a new humanity a new birth!

The Twelve signs for March 2019: For Sun and Rising Signs

Aries (Mar 20-Apr 19): Hey, it’s difficult to be an Aries! You say things you wish you hadn’t. You are constantly caught up into activity and doing, not able to fully rest and relax. There’s something that irritates or frustrates. And yet it’s wonderful to be an Aries. You step out where others wouldn’t dare. You have great insights and ideas. Your intuition is strong and you are deeply courageous. In March, whatever you have started at the beginning of the year now gets more solid and grounded. Stay the course. Move into more trust as you move through the challenges ahead. Grace and opportunity is there for you. Step by step gets you there. Darn, wouldn’t you know it, you have to cultivate patience!!!

Taurus (Apr 20-May 20): Well Taurus, hang on, your world is about to be shaken into new forms. In fact you may have already felt the anxiety as the oncoming changes and calls for change have rambled through your steady and predictable life. But the change is welcome! What an opportunity as you plunge into a new dimension of living. Bless the day that you responded to the call of stopping what was no longer passionate and working for you! Set your mantra, “I am open to seeing the beauty of life and the new opportunities that are presenting themselves”.

Gemini (May 21-Jun 20): Dear Gemini, Mercury will be retrograde in Pisces with Neptune. So shift your mode of perception and re-attune to your deeper self. Go for a soak or immerse yourself in a floatation tank. Let your mind suspend itself. Let thoughts become the clouds in a vaster space of being. If you are feeling overwhelmed, now’s the time to make space to complete tasks or finally do that organizing. Let go of all those papers and books, which you have put off for ever. Simplify this month. Don’t give in to the temptation to take on more! Reach out for capable assistance. Focus, with that help, on a couple projects, and day by day build that schedule. You will be richly rewarded with renewal and momentum in April.

Cancer (Jun 21–Jul 21): How does such a feeling person live in this world? The world says, “Don’t be so sensitive!” Do you shutdown? Do you compartmentalize, retreat into your shell? Feel bad for all your deep feeling? Ah, but your gift is your sensitivity, your ability to feel. This is your body talking. In each of our cells lives our unconscious. Even more profound and instructive, underneath the personal unconscious, is the collective intuitive wisdom of our beings. So as you move beyond emotional reaction, cultivating a deep listening you are guided by a clear inner voice. You are bringing more and more skillfulness into how you communicate and relate with others. You are seeing what is no longer useful. You are now able to stand in your knowing without overdoing. The bonus gift that March bestows upon you is a dip into the Piscian, Neptunian waters of imagination. Give yourself time to receive and express your creative gift, the deep essential poetry of your unique soul.

Leo (Jul 22 – Aug 22): Wow Leo, something new has begun to alter your sense of yourself. You have dared yourself to step out in a new way. And that’s Uranus calling, shaking up your shaggy mane! Some of you already feel this and for others it’s around the corner. You might complain that Saturn in Capricorn is forcing commitment and completion and a steady facing of what it takes to achieve goals. Don’t give up. Align with a longer view. Jupiter in fiery Sag encourages playfulness and confidence in your new endeavors. It brings opportunity for your talents and expression, then Saturn says keep refining, keep this new practice going. Someone you loves you shows their affection. A friend admires and values you. You feel their appreciation.

Virgo (Aug 23-Sep 22): It’s worthwhile to go to the water lands, to soak and drift and let yourself have a spaciousness. You may be overwhelmed by others’ needs so your strongly attentive and helpful Virgo self may be pulled into their situation. With Mercury now in Pisces it is hard to get your thoughts straight. So our wise universe gives us Mercury retrograde. Take time to soak and sink underneath your busy mind. Review your art and poetry. Do the things you love. Fortify your soul with spacious wisdom and faith in divine order. Honor the Saturn in Capricorn by creating good boundaries. With Uranus now aligning to Cancer change things up. Try a new approach. Break out!

Libra (Sep 23-Oct 22): It’s not easy to be a Libra with your graciousness and thoughtfulness. Being there for others as a constant. You know that inside Libra is that fiery Aries who has its own strong needs and drives and yearns for independence. Well, welcome to Chiron now in Aries. This little heavenly body, we name the wounded healer, now calls for recalibrating the balance between your desires and the needs of others. With Mars in Taurus you want to manage this in a steady, patient and enduring way. Since you are a very creative and artistic being, while we move through this Piscean time, be sure to allow time for your imagination. Express. Tell a story. Tell your story. Honor the deep renewal process taking place, the letting go, and the pruning away of old patterns.

Scorpio (Oct 23-Nov 21): Dear Scorpio, I wish you could see yourself as I do. Strong and capable. Deep and layered. You are extraordinarily perceptive. Being so perceptive on a feeling level allows you to easily move into another’s feeling or emotional space. You want to assist in transformation and resolving the problem. All this can take place automatically without your conscious awareness. The challenge is that this may be triggering your own wounds and you can respond through that projection. To be this sensitive and to be empathetic takes a lot of clearing of your own issues! With Mars now in Taurus your sensitive self may be triggered by another, causing heated interaction, challenge, and a feeling of being at the effect of another person. The key is to define what it is that you are wanting right now from a level that bypasses the ego. Then communicate your request. Then that Taurus supports and stabilizes your body and soul.

Sagittarius (Nov 22-Dec 20): Dear Sagittarius, do you feel restless? Do you sense the opportunities out there that you want to engage in? Is your roaming soul craving travel and adventure? Are you aligned with what gives you meaning in this life? All the while Saturn in Capricorn brings you back to persevere in your duties and responsibilities, to eliminate the nonessential. The character of this year carries the rhythms of expansion and growth with contraction and grounded focus. As Mercury retrogrades in Pisces during March allow yourself time to review, and to feel into where you want to point that Sag arrow. Your work out in the community can be significant at this time.

Capricorn (Dec 21- Jan 19): This is a good time to communicate your feelings, dear Capricorn. As you touch in with your own inner depth of sensing, you find how universal those feelings are. You are supported at this time with a structure, and the motivation to learn and broaden your view of yourself by this sharing. In fact you may realize your poetic and creative voice through this experience. During the next 7 years with Uranus transiting Taurus you experience profound breakthroughs. Stay steady on your coarse. Honor your commitments and cultivate patience to navigate most successfully these breakthrough points. Uranus now in harmony with your sign encourages radical newness.

Aquarius (Jan 20-Feb 17): Dear Aquarius, this is the month for art, for poetry, for music, and for love. What is it that you resonate with? Once a year Venus travels through your sign as it is doing so now. Venus emphasizes your connection with others. It brings your attention to your deeply felt and shared experiences of the heart with others. It’s a special time for you, brilliant Aquarius, with your bright and insightful mental prowess. Now is the time of the heart. The more space you give it the more you will feel the love around and within yourself. At the Full Moon, Venus squares Mars giving you an opportunity to honor competing needs without taking any of it personally.

Pisces (Feb 18-Mar 19): Happy Birthday dear Pisces! The depths of the Piscean soul is unfathomable, and so needed! With Neptune in Pisces conjunct the New Moon in Pisces, and Mercury retrograde in Pisces, you are especially open and sensitively perceptive this month. May compassion, self-understanding, tolerance, and inclusiveness increase. During this time, retreat is very favorable as you find yourself periodically overwhelmed by both your own emotional sensitivity and the influence that the world’s emotional turmoil may have on you. You might ask yourself, “How might I dive deep within to catch the wisdom of my soul during these times?”
