Lunar Eclipse in Taurus/Nov Astrology
Lunar Eclipse in Taurus
Oct 28 1:24 pm PDT, at 5 Taurus
This Lunar Eclipse takes place in Taurus as the Sun is in Scorpio, highlighting this fixed pair of signs. With the lunar eclipse taking place near the north node, the past is up for review for our growth. We have a rather explosive situation with this lunar eclipse, Jupiter opposite Mars in Scorpio. During a lunar eclipse the shadow of the Earth falls upon the lunar face for us to see. What is it illumining? Jupiter enlarges the energies of the planet it is in aspect to, so here it is increasing the powerful Scorpio intensity, and we feel this in the world right now. Pluto, the god of the underworld is squaring the nodal axis, bringing up old and ignored, unresolved issues. Mars in Scorpio can be destructive, and strike with sharp intensity, invading the boundaries of safety.
The Taurus North Node is ruled by Venus, so we look to Venus to give us more insight as to what can benefit the situation. Venus in Virgo wants to form relationships in careful and practical ways. But this Venus in Virgo can easily bend into criticism and judgment which prevents the potential break-through set up to happen, (Venus trine Uranus). Saturn in empathetic Pisces mediates the eclipse energy with its trine and sextile, offering deep insight. Saturn always calls for slowing down and deepening in order that greater wisdom and insight can arise.
For those of us with planets on the Taurus Scorpio axis (as well as everyone in general), we can be alert to feeling more sensitive, overwhelmed, and deeply challenged by the awareness of both the beauty of the autumn and the intensity of violence erupting. We can align with Saturn in Pisces, and ground ourselves with empathy as we witness these polarities and extremes in which we live. As the North Node transits it will soon conjunct Chiron, the wounded Healer, and possibly bring about some healing of the deep trauma of our societies. (peaking in February 2024)
Below is the Sabian symbol for the degree of the Lunar eclipse. The Sabian symbols are symbols for each degree of the zodiac, which were first conceived in the 1940s.

Finding a way to end separation and form group consciousness
“Building bridges to end separation”
Following a catastrophic setback it can feel like the Earth has opened up to swallow us. The best way to counteract the sense of separation and desolation is to engage in a challenging community project that gives substantial proof of our involvement and importance in life.
The Moon is exalted in Taurus, meaning our lunar natures of waxing and waning emotions and intensities can be steadied and nurtured in the earthy and cool Taurus. Perhaps the lunar eclipse shows us something of ourselves that needs to be seen so the Scorpio transformative processes can take place. Venus the ruler of Taurus is in mutable Virgo, harmonizing with break-through Uranus, which often introduces new levels of consciousness and integration through unexpected crisis.
Affirmation for Lunar Eclipse in Taurus
“May I be steady in my presence so the heart of the matter breaks open and gives birth to deeper understanding, harmony, and peace. May we find our way to end separation.”
Each full Moon time highlights polarity and paradox. The Sun, now in Scorpio, is balanced through the night by the Moon in the opposite sign, Taurus. Out of the mysterious and hidden depths of being, the place where opposites blend and create (Scorpio) the rich and beautiful fullness of nature (and our nature) comes into physical being.

Courage and Action for the New
During the end of October and through November, the Sun travels with combative and aggressive Mars in intense and deadly Scorpio. On October 28th, at the Lunar Eclipse, Mars opposed Jupiter increasing its warrior qualities. By mid-month, to the end of the month, the Sun and Mars oppose disruptive and rebellious Uranus. The energy of the month is volatile, with sudden unpredictable and chaotic events. Saturn stations to go direct on the 3rd, supporting serious consideration of world wide events. Venus enters Libra on the November 8 to aid in finding equilibrium, diplomacy and better relations.
These intense alignments for the month can be embraced through courageous acts rather than disruptive and volatile aggressiveness. They show us the timeliness for adventuring into new opportunities, breaking out of the old patterns, and decisively moving into something new. New life chapters potentially can be initiated. It encourages us to dare to be ourselves in new ways. As Saturn stations, (in the beginning of the month) commitments can be made and solidified. Focus and organized structuring of time and plans can support new endeavors.
