October full Moon
October ends under the Taurus Full Moon

in the Scorpio season
The nights and early hours of the new day carry a great beauty and mystery during the Scorpio time of year. Step outside in early morning to see the brightness of Jupiter, with Mars twinkling red above it. Enjoy the rising of the Taurus full moon at sunset, around 6:30 pm.
This year the full Moon in Taurus initiates us into the Scorpio time of year
Oct 25 – Full Moon at 2 Taurus – When we arrive at the time of the darkening of the days, night arriving so much sooner, we enter the Scorpio season. The water sign of great depth, Scorpio, holds and describes the most intense of human experiences and emotions while it is balanced in the zodiac by the earthiest sign of the zodiac, Taurus. Taurus as a fixed earth sign, steadies us, brings resilience, and reminds us of the beauties of nature. Under the full Moon in Taurus we may experience the beauty of these shortened days and longer nights, even as partner to Scorpio, when we honor the spirits of all Hallows’ Eve. Scorpio brings out the mystery and Taurus dresses it in the costumes of natures changing cycles.
Under the Taurus Moon, we can persevere with our intentions. We may appreciate and attend to the daily tasks and movements with more consciousness. We may bring the beauty of nature into our homes. We may hold to our ideals and beliefs in spite of others, or situations. During the Taurus full moon we feel the mystery and the poignancy of this earth journey, honoring both life and death. We can be strong or stubborn or both.
Full Moon at 2 Taurus, 9:11 PM

The full Moon in Taurus and the Sun in Scorpio form a T-square alignment with Pluto, the God of transformation. We can expect this time to bring upheaval from below, expose hidden agendas, bring up issues of the use of power.
On a personal level it may be a good time to take stock of what we value, what we want to keep in our lives and what we can or must let go of. It’s a good time to look at deep issues that have shaped our lives, or sense of self, and to allow transformation to happen
As the Taurus full Moon comes close to Halloween, this would be the evening that the ancient peoples would celebrate those who have passed over, as the veil between the worlds is known to be the thinnest at this time. The Celts celebrated this time as Samhain, one of the cross quarter fire ceremonies, honoring the midway passage between the seasons, celebrating the power of nature and her changing seasons. “Samhain is a time of indrawing, uncovering the secrets of the life-cycle in the absence of its outer forms. Fires were lit to represent life-force and its capacity to transform and enliven, yet at each cross quarter, the fire represented a different aspect of the life-force.” (Living in Time, by Palden Jenkins)
