Star’s Wisdom
Saturday, Dec 21st at 8:20 PST, the Sun reaches its farthest southern point on the horizon as it rises in the morning. The longest nights reign for 3 days then yield to the growing light, as the Sun reverses its movement along the horizon and begins to head back toward the Eastern point.
The Winter Solstice has been a sacred time for eons. The Neolithic people built Earth mound temples to honor the returning light from the darkness. They honored the sacred home of Earth, within the sacred dance of Sun and Moon and Earth. In the domed temples they built, of massive granite blocks of stone, on the solstice, they stood in the inner chamber as the sunlight of the new day like a vibrating serpent, undulated its way into the long narrow passageway, to fertilize the dark chamber with the return of light.
We find ourselves during this wintertime, in a time of cultural and political polarization, a time of great transition, between Ages, in a battle for the soul of humanity. Now is the potent time to align with our Earth, this temple in which we live, to the greater starry expanse of mystery and beauty. Now is the time to ritualize together and attune to the growing light into greater consciousness. For that consciousness is the bridge that will span the chasm we now attempt to cross.
This is a very special Solstice, followed as it is on Christmas day with a New Moon Solar Eclipse (Not visible here in USA). Then on December 27th, the Sun conjoins Jupiter at 6 degrees Capricorn. We can think of this time as a 3 point seeding time, allowing the energy to build and resonate through our being and Earth. The time we take to slow down, enter meditative states, and reflect on what we are attuning with and committed to, will resonate through our cells, into the collective, and into Earth. Just as we take a mantra 3 times, so this 3 fold seeding can enhance our consciousness, which is, in its pure form, light, love, and intelligent awareness. Now we can open the door to the heart chamber of our sacred temple, resonating ourselves within this mantra of returning light from the darkness, with a deep awareness of the field of mystery, beauty, and penetrating interrelatedness in which we live. This is the foundation for our transformation.
The meaning of the Planetary alignment

The 3-fold event of this turn of the year marks the vital importance of this year and decade ahead. Capricorn was considered the most sacred of signs by the ancient peoples, precisely because of the return of the light. Let us reclaim this Earth sign back from the patriarchal description and once again imbue it with the depth and integrity it possesses. This is the sign that is anchored in the deep seas and moves to the highest mountaintop, moving from the deepest darkness to the dawning light. These symbols instruct us to understand the potential within this sign. Capricorn possesses the ability to sense within the rich depth and yin darkness of the soul, of our true deep selves, and bring forward our vision and gift. In so doing we gain the wisdom of great who we are and our purpose. Capricorn carries the discipline of our commitment and intention to become conscious and take up our gift, allowing the truth of the heart to shine through our expressions, interactions, and our consciousness.

The Solar Eclipse and Jupiter highlighting this Solstice become the markers of a new beginning which opens up the possibilities to receive and grow this wisdom. The Solar Eclipse embodies the power of this time with the potential of alignment of our subconscious, and our sense of ourselves, or identity, as we live it everyday, with our higher Self. Literally, the light from above can penetrate the darkness of our habits, projections, defenses, and reaction hidden in the unconscious. Jupiter opens us up into receiving the positive with which to reset our course into the next year.
We will come prepared into 2020. Gathering in any kind of ritual will amplify our results toward transforming our and humanity’s consciousness into the numerous enfolding dimensions within which we live, triggering the higher intuitive mind and heart to be our center of being, allowing more peace, kindness, spaciousness and wisdom. That’s the transformation we are seeking into the New Age.
How the Alignment affects Your Chart:
Wherever Capricorn is positioned in your chart (which house(s) carry the sign Capricorn) this area of your life is activated. It is supported by this seeding and will receive the positive attributes described about. This alignment also reverberates and activates other parts of the chart. It benefits and supports directly both the Earth, (Taurus and Virgo) and Water signs, (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces), to open and receive greater trust, faith, and confidence in expanding your horizons, moving into new projects or study, while supporting more enjoyment and connection with your higher self. If you have planets aligning with the early degrees of Capricorn you receive, if you are open to it, the gift of trust in yourself and moving forward with positive intent and outcomes. With planets in the Fire signs, (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius), this alignment encourages patience and staying with your intentions for best outcomes. For the Air signs Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius, this Capricorn alignment seeks to gather your focus and creates the need for prioritizing and structuring your time.
Then on Jan 12th, Saturn conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn and calls out the challenges that we have been dealing through 2019, the challenge of exposing, confronting, and seeing the dark and shadow forms of what we have created that no longer serve us, and are no longer life sustaining.
Remember the words of the Time, “Person of the Year”, Greta Thunberg;
“This is an emergency! Our house is on fire!
We have a right to survive!…
How dare you steal my dreams!
How dare you turn your backs on the collapsing ecosystems
And bring froth your refrain of endless growth
This is all a sham for money and
We will not let you get away with it!”
And the poet, Mary Oliver,
“Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention,
how to fall down into the grass,
how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed,
how to stroll through the fields, ….
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?”
Blessings of the return of the light and
with starry wonder,
